You have the job of merging conflicting requirements from both groups, reconciling the two groups when they oppose each other and educating both groups. The education will help with the merging and reconciling activities.fadednoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461658247603905885.post-22177021046102213142011-01-12T19:02:32.093-07:002011-01-12T19:02:32.093-07:00Anon 1: LOL at your partner ! Kit: Glad I can occasionally educate and not just complain and gossip. :-) You make a good point on the new-minister parallel--we often ask our users, "How do you work now, AND how do you WANT to work?"

Anon 2: Thanks for dropping a line, yo! The short answer to your question is that we're dividing up the work, and it's thrown some people together that haven't worked together before, which causes some friction for sure. I do plan to post some on the relationship dynamics and how they affect the work/project once I've had a chance to observe the situation a little longer. :-)Mile High Pixiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03276750909800945131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461658247603905885.post-51821885061902616732011-01-12T17:45:56.553-07:002011-01-12T17:45:56.553-07:00Yo Pix -- First time, long time.

Given this is a core, shell and TI project I wonder how the design team is organized, and how the dynamic of shell v. TI is being managed.

I've loved your posts that feature the interpersonal relationships at DA, and I guess that a large project like this could really test those relationships -- especially in a firm (like mine) that has been severely challenged by this wounded economy. No doubt this project is welcome, but how is everyone handling it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3461658247603905885.post-32299110531203814132011-01-11T06:57:12.260-07:002011-01-11T06:57:12.260-07:00I always get an education when you talk about your...I always get an education when you talk about your work, Pixie. Thanks.

This post reminds me somewhat of a new minister arriving at a congregation and trying to convince the members that they could do things better if they'd just let go of some of their preconceptions and consider another way. You start at the wide part with everything you could possibly hope for and by the end you've come down to the smaller part to a reasonable program.

Unfortunately, some projects with said partner end up being more like a chute than a funnel.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
